Corona Boy Fatally Injured by Auto Near His Home
A 9-year-old boy died early Friday, hours after he was hit by a car in the street near his southwest Corona home.
Jason Moore was “going after a ball that had rolled out in the street” Thursday afternoon, when he was hit by a Ford Pinto, said Sgt. Henry Aja of the police traffic division.
Jason was taken to Riverside General Hospital, where he died early Friday morning, a coroner’s spokeswoman said. Police were still investigating the accident Friday and no charges had been filed against the driver.
The accident occurred in the 1500 block of Via del Rio, east of Sunkist Circle, just around the corner from Jason’s home, Aja said.
