SAN DIEGO
Two people were killed in Kensington on Saturday when a speeding car going north on Fairmount Avenue went out of control, hit a guard rail and exploded, ejecting the occupants, police said.
The accident occurred at 4:51 p.m. near Fairmount and Montezuma Road, police said. Both victims were declared dead at the scene. Debris from the exploding car hit an oncoming pickup truck, slightly injuring its driver, police said.
The identities of the victims were not immediately released. Police were investigating the cause of the accident.
