Redondo Beach : Curbside Recycling to End
The city’s curbside recycling program will be discontinued Nov. 1. The City Council this week agreed to discontinue the program at the request of the contractor, Western Waste Industries, which reported losses of $71,000 over the last year due to poor community participation.
The program, established in January, 1983, to collect newspaper, cardboard, glass and cans, was originally authorized by the council to operate through June, 1, 1987.
