San Diego Soccer : San Diego State Struggles, 1-1

San Diego State, ranked No. 15 in the nation, struggled to a 1-1 tie with Cal State Los Angeles (4-7-2) at home. Kyle Whittemore scored for the Aztecs (10-2-3), with Steve Borden assisting. Mario Amador scored for CSLA.

Point Loma Nazarene College 3, Southern California College 0--Greg Rizio, Steve Martin and Don Tyssee each scored for host Point Loma in the Golden State Athletic Conference match. Point Loma is 1-2 and 4-10-1.

In women’s soccer action:

Cal State Dominguez Hills 2, UC San Diego 1-- CSU Dominguez Hills, ranked No. 9 in the nation among Division I and II teams, scored twice and then held on to defeat UCSD in a non-confernce match at La Jolla. Heidi Mitchem scored for UCSD (13-4-4). Dominguez Hills improved to 9-0-2.
