The public is invited to attend a forum on incorporation tonight at 7 p.m. in Mission Viejo sponsored by state Sen. Marian Bergeson (R-Newport Beach).
Bergeson will explain the politics and law affecting incorporation.
Afterward, the public may question a panel that will include Dick Turner, executive director of the county Local Agency Formation Commission; Peter Detwiler, a staff consultant to the Senate’s Local Government Committee; Tony Carstens of the county administrative office, and Paul Brady, assistant city manager in Irvine.
Several south county communities are considering incorporation attempts, including Mission Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Dana Point and Capistrano Beach.
The forum will be held in the Performing Arts Theater of Mission Viejo High School, 25025 Chrisanta Drive.
