Gretzky and Some Avenging Oilers Play Kings Tonight

Share

The Edmonton Oilers will seek to avenge a loss in Los Angeles earlier this season when they play host to the Kings tonight at Northlands Coliseum.

The Kings beat the Oilers, 7-6, at the Forum in the sixth game of the season. It was a well-played affair that had given some hope the Kings might continue that level of play. They haven’t, as their 3-8 record verifies.

Meanwhile, the Oilers changed their fortunes. Wayne Gretzky is off to his fastest start in the National Hockey League. He had two goals and one assist in the Oilers’ 6-2 win over Vancouver Friday night. Edmonton (8-4) remains in first place in the Smythe Division.
