Blue Cross of California said it hired four executives, who will join the company’s Woodland Hills headquarters this month.

John P. Cole was named executive vice president for employer group services, a new position that places a single executive in charge of all coverage sold to employers. He had been president of AMICARE Insurance, a unit of American Medical International.

David W. Guild was named senior vice president for information services. He was previously a partner and information systems consultant with the accounting firm of Ernst & Whinney in San Francisco. Blue Cross information services previously were supervised by an outside consultant.

Brian S. Gould was named vice president and medical director, a position that had been vacant for about a year. Gould had been national director of medical affairs for the group health services division of AMI.

Ann Monroe was named vice president for human resources. She is the former regional director of A & H Training and Development Systems of Springfield, Ill. Her appointment gives Blue Cross two human resources vice presidents. Russ Gray, based in Oakland, already has that title, but will report to Monroe.
