The Laguna Beach Police Employees Assn. has sent an angry letter to Laguna Beach school board members criticizing them for a “double standard” on drugs. The letter said the board’s decision to allow Laguna Beach High School football coach Cedrick Hardman to continue to coach on a volunteer basis after being charged with possession of cocaine and resisting arrest “developed a double standard that will create real problems.” A Municipal Court judge agreed last month to dismiss felony charges against Hardman if he completes a six-month rehabilitation program.
