Simi Man Suspected of Attempted Rape
A Simi Valley man was arrested Thursday on suspicion of attempting to kidnap and rape a woman leaving a grocery on Tuesday, Simi Valley police said.
The man, Patrick Linn Ross, 32, is also under investigation in four other attempted kidnapings and rapes in Simi Valley over the last 1 1/2 years, Sgt. Arch Morgan said in a written statement.
Ross allegedly passed a threatening note to a 28-year-old Simi Valley woman Tuesday as she sat in her car in the parking lot of Vons Shopping Center on Los Angeles Avenue, Morgan said.
Morgan said that Ross pressed a knife to the woman’s throat and got in the car, but that the woman escaped through the passenger door. Ross was being held at the East Valley Station of the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department, and no bail had been set.
