Renters’ Market in North County

It’s becoming a renter’s market in North San Diego County, judging from a study conducted by the Durkin Co., a Santa Monica-based market research firm.

The study audited 2,780 existing units in 14 projects. It showed a 5% vacancy factor in established projects but an overall vacancy factor of 15% when newer projects still in the lease-up stages were included.

In addition, the study revealed that there are at least 4,541 units in 16 other complexes under construction or in the planning stages.
