Western Christian 14, Village Christian 8--Despite a rally by Village Christian late in the fourth quarter, Western Christian held on to beat the Crusaders to remain tied for first place in the Alpha League.

Western Christian quarterback Gary Levin hit receiver Mike Henderson for a 79-yard touchdown on the first play of the game. The Lancers added another touchdown in the fourth quarter when Torrey Pearson ran in from the four, giving Western Christian a 14-0 lead.

Village Christian started its comeback with four minutes left in the game when quarterback Chris Johnson hit Tyler Victor on a 16-yard touchdown pass. The Crusaders had one more chance to catch the Lancers, but Johnson’s pass fell incomplete on a fourth-down play with 58 seconds left.

Western Christian is 7-2 overall, 5-1 in league. Village Christian is 4-5, 3-3 in league.
