San Juan Capistrano : Public Opinion Sought on Redevelopment Plans

Share

Local residents and business owners will have an opportunity to air their views on downtown redevelopment plans at three public meetings this week and next.

The city’s Redevelopment Agency is considering two proposals for rebuilding much of the historic downtown area. Birtcher and J.W. Colachis Resorts has submitted a $39-million plan, and the Oliver McMillan & Collins Development company has offered a $28.5-million blueprint.

Models and drawings of the future downtown envisioned by both development firms are available for public viewing at City Hall. The Redevelopment Agency is expected to make a final decision to award a contract in early December.
