Five suspected cocaine traffickers who allegedly operated in Burbank, Glendale and other Southern California communities were arrested this week after two separate investigations, Burbank police said.

Sgt. Don Goldberg said 92 pounds of cocaine estimated to be worth $4 million were seized in the arrests.

Efrain Mejia, 26, of Burbank and Glendale residents Jaime Londono, 42, and Adrianna Bedoya, 27, were arrested Thursday after an informant told police Wednesday that he had observed suspicious activity by the pair, Goldberg said. About 24 kilos of cocaine and $58,000 were seized in the arrests, he said.

Goldberg said the three are suspected of being major cocaine traffickers who had been dealing in Southern California for six months. They were held in Burbank jail in lieu of $500,000 each on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale.

In a separate case, Anna Arrechea, 30, of Burbank, and Rogelio Lopez, 19, of Alhambra, were arrested Sunday by Burbank police after Arrechea was observed removing a kilo of cocaine from a vehicle parked at Palm Avenue and 7th Street, police said. Officers confiscated another 17 kilos of cocaine from the vehicle, Goldberg said. Lopez was identified as the man who drove Arrechea from the scene.

Arrechea and Lopez were also held in lieu of $500,000 each on suspicion of possessing cocaine for sale, he said.
