Development to Be Aired: Plans to develop 7,500 acres in an area of east Orange around Irvine Lake will be reviewed in a public meeting Wednesday. The Irvine Co. and the City of Orange are working together on a study of the area. While there are no specific plans, the general intent is to create a residential area with some commercial and recreation space, said Tony Skidmore of Michael Brandman & Associates, a consulting firm on the project. Skidmore stressed that any construction in the area is at least two years away, and Wednesday’s meeting, where residents may offer opinions, is just the start of the process. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. at Orange High School, 525 N. Shaffer St., and is expected to last about two hours. For more information, call the city Planning Department at (714) 532-0434.
