Orange : Man’s Body Discovered in Bed of Pickup Truck

Share

A man’s body was found Sunday morning in the bed of a pickup truck parked in the west end of the city, authorities said.

Sgt. Milt Galbraith said the dead man was identified as Gilbert T. Perea, about 45.

His address could not be immediately determined, Galbraith said, but he was believed to be an employee of a cable television company that owns the truck in which his body was found.

The cause of death could not be immediately determined, pending a coroner’s autopsy scheduled for today. But Galbraith said Perea’s body was fully clothed and there was no immediate indication of foul play.

“There was no blood and no marks of violence,” Galbraith said.

He said the body was discovered about 11 a.m. Sunday on Lewis Street, near Simmons Avenue, by a resident who notified Orange police.
