Kansas City, Mo.-based AMC Entertainment said it has reached an agreement with the Justice Department to admit guilt in two cases of “product splitting” in Dallas and Deptford, N.J. The company said it expects to be fined $750,000 and $500,000 in the two cases, subject to court approval. AMC, the nation’s third-largest movie theater operator, said that in exchange for its settlement and continuing cooperation, the antitrust division has agreed not to prosecute AMC for any split agreements prior to May 2, 1985.
