Fifteen planes searched for two Palmdale area men who took off in a small plane from Kernville Airport and have not been seen since, officials said. The Bakersfield Civil Air Patrol and the Kern County Sheriff’s Department launched the search in an area stretching from Kernville to Lancaster. Fog obscured several mountaintops and other areas, hampering searchers’ efforts, officials said. Authorities have not identified the two missing men, who filed no flight plan. They were last seen leaving the Kernville Airport just after noon Monday in a Cessna 150. Both of the men worked for Rockwell International. Neither is believed to be an experienced pilot.
