Fullerton : One Killed, Two Injured Critically in Car Crash

A man was killed and two women critically injured early Tuesday in a two-car crash, police said.

One of the two cars may have run a red light just before the 1:35 a.m. collision at Malvern Avenue and Euclid Street, Fullerton Police Department officers said. But Traffic Officer Kevin Scanlon said that extensive damage to both cars made it difficult to establish what led to the crash.

Roberto Gonzalez, 21, of Fullerton apparently was driving north on Euclid when his car collided with the other vehicle, Scanlon said. Both vehicles went into a spin and came to rest on a sidewalk.

Gonzalez was ejected from his car, crushed by the vehicle and declared dead at the scene, police said. Riding in the second car were Jennifer Lee Jackson, 21, of Irvine and Cheryl Lynn Roden, 18, of Fullerton, who were taken to UCI Medical Center and reported in critical condition, police said.
