The 1988 Olympic ski jumping competition may be impossible to stage at a new 90-meter tower in Calgary, Canada, unless organizers take steps to control winds which regularly sweep across its path, according to skiers and coaches.

While the skiers have experienced few problems training for today’s 70-meter trial event, winds gusting to 30 m.p.h. have prevented them from training for Saturday’s 90-meter competition.
