AND NOW HERE’S THE NEWS: The word out of London is that Mick Jagger is not only working on another solo record, but putting together a band for a solo tour next year. All the plans are still tentative, but don’t be surprised if Jagger headlines a tour with Tina Turner (who opened for the Stones back in the early ‘70s), with Jagger and Turner combining on a few duets at the end of each individual segment of the show. Jagger’s back-up musicians could include guitarist Jeff Beck, bassist Deon Estus (from Wham!) and drummer Omar Hakim, who recently worked with Sting. . . . The rest of the Rolling Stones aren’t gathering any moss either. Ron Wood is at work on a new solo album, with soul veteran Bobby Womack contributing several songs (including the first single, “Too Close for Comfort”) and helping out with the production. The record’s due out early next year from MCA Records. . . . Meanwhile, drummer Charlie Watts’ new album, “Live at Fulham Town Hall,” is due out this week from Columbia Records. A homage to the big-band era, the record features Watts at the head of a 33-piece jazz orchestra, which swings through such hits as “Stomping at the Savoy” and “Flying Home.” . . . And, as we mentioned a couple of months back, Keith Richards will have his debut solo album out sometime early next year.
