A San Diego Municipal Court judge has been hit with a temporary restraining order to stay at least 100 yards from his pregnant girlfriend, who claims he beat her.

Judge Joseph K. Davis was sued by Anna Garcia, of San Diego, who said he beat her on Nov. 23. Superior Court Judge Thomas Duffy signed the order Nov. 25, according to court records.

A hearing date to continue the order has been set for Monday. The order also forbids Davis, 39, who was appointed to the bench in 1980, from contacting Garcia at work and her other child at school.

Garcia wrote that Davis punched her in the abdomen and that she suffered minor injuries to her back and arms after he became jealous over a phone call from a former boyfriend.

“This man has a tremendouse (sic) temper,” wrote Garcia, who acted as her own attorney and filed the suit in pauper status, thus avoiding a filing fee.

The lawsuit says that Davis is the father and that the baby is due March 29.
