AIA Handily Overpowers Defending NCAA Champion Louisville, 94-82
San Diego-based Athletes in Action defeated defending NCAA champion Louisville, 94-82, Wednesday night at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky.
AIA (12-9) held a 49-46 halftime lead, but outscored Louisville, 16-2, in the first 3 1/2 minutes of the second half for a 65-48 advantage. Louisville is 0-3; the exhibition game did not count on its record.
Lorenzo Romar scored 20 points and Brian Kellerman added 19 for AIA, which made 10 of 13 three-point attempts and shot 66% from the field. Pervis Ellison led Louisville with 27 points.
The crowd of 18,898 was the largest to see an AIA game this season.
