Culver City : Studio Improvements Ordered
The Culver City Redevelopment Agency has approved a revised report requiring the new owner of Laird International Studios to make structural improvements and provide new landscaping for the historic facility.
The report calls for the new owner of the studio to correct structural, electrical, ventilation, pest and other problems. It also requires the studio to move or demolish seven buildings to increase parking space.
Kings Point Corp., which owns the 14-acre, 69-year-old facility, plans to sell it at auction Dec. 15. Kings Point, which has filed for protection under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, wants to sell the studio to help pay creditors.
