A bearded man and a woman with dark, braided hair robbed a stationery store at gunpoint Sunday and escaped with $300 cash, authorities said.

The couple entered Pat’s Hallmark in the 9100 block of Adams Avenue at 5 p.m. and confronted the shop’s owner with a .45-caliber automatic handgun, Huntington Beach Police Sgt. Gary Brooks said.

Brooks said they demanded the money, then fled. A vehicle was heard leaving the rear of the shop, which is in a shopping center near the corner of Magnolia Avenue.

Brooks said no one was injured.

The store owner told Huntington Beach Officers Rob Royce and Lynn Webster that the man was white, about 40 years old, with brown hair and beard. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a dark blue nylon jacket and jeans.

The woman was described as possibly of American Indian descent. She was wearing a long, white, embroidered cotton smock and pink sweat pants.
