George Taylor has been named vice president...

George Taylor has been named vice president of student affairs at Cal State Los Angeles. Taylor will be responsible for coordinating, evaluating, administering and managing student services, programs and activities. He previously served as vice president for student affairs at West Virginia University.

Patricia Bonner has been appointed dean of the School of Education and Behavioral Studies at Azusa Pacific University. Bonner previously served as director of teacher education at the university and as coordinator of the Preschool/Child Development Center for the Monrovia Unified School District. Bonner received a Ph.D. from the Claremont Graduate School.

Paul H. Miller of West Covina has been elected president of the medical staff of Inter-Community Medical Center in Covina. Miller, a cardiologist, has practiced at the hospital for eight years.

Andrew Rolle, Andrew Glass Cleland professor of history at Occidental College, has been elected a fellow of the California Historical Society. Rolle, a 1943 graduate of Occidental College, has taught at the college for 35 years.

Louise Waln of Covina has been renamed to the Charter Oak Regional Library Council in Covina by Supervisor Pete Schabarum. Waln is an early childhood education professor at Citrus College in Glendora. The council advises the board and county librarian on library policy and operation services.

Richard L. Holden has been appointed executive director of the Southern California Veterinary Medical Assn. Holden previously served as acting director.

Larry Anderson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has been promoted to the rank of commander. Anderson, of Covina, has served the department for 27 years. Anderson graduated from Pepperdine University and the Federal Bureau of Investigation National Academy.

Robert Small has been appointed acting director of the Center for Hospitality Management at Cal Poly Pomona. Ground-breaking ceremonies will be held for the 22,000-square-foot center in 1987. Small previously served as a professor in hotel, restaurant and travel management at Cal Poly. Small received an undergraduate degree from Michigan State University, graduate and doctorate degrees from Claremont Graduate School and a Certificate de Cuisine from Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland.
