Westwood : Building Moratorium Asked

Share

A six-month building moratorium has been requested by Los Angeles Councilman Zev Yaroslavsky on multi-residential Westwood property in the area bounded by Sepulveda Boulevard, Selby Avenue, Santa Monica Boulevard and Ohio Avenue. The request was approved by the City Council and sent to the city attorney for drafting. The moratorium will halt construction until a new Westwood community plan has been completed. Yaroslavsky aide Ginny Kruger said the recommended zoning changes for the new community plan would result in a 50% cut in the maximum size of new multi-residential buildings.

The council also approved an extension of an existing building moratorium on property east and west of the UCLA campus.
