DAUGHTER BORN TO RASHAD
NEW YORK —
Actress Phylicia Rashad of “The Cosby Show” has given birth to a girl.
Rashad, who plays Bill Cosby’s wife, Claire Huxtable, on the hit NBC situation comedy, is married to NBC sportscaster Ahmad Rashad.
“Mother and daughter are doing fine,” an NBC spokesman said Friday.
The baby, named Condola Phylea Rashad, was born Thursday about 5:20 p.m. in an unidentified New York hospital. She weighed 8 pounds, 12 ounces and was 22 inches long, NBC said. The baby is the Rashads’ first child.
