Don’t Just Play Hard, Play Dirty
Regarding Mike Downey’s commentary (Dec. 3), since when is strength and toughness measured in a player’s ability to “clean a few clocks”? How heartwarming to see the Los Angeles Times advocate playing dirty, right on the front page of the sports section.
If the Raiders have real talent, spirit and determination, they’ll win. If not, they don’t deserve the victory. Winning by head-bashing just doesn’t seem to be as sweet.
