Cash Perks Heads Field in $604,000 Futurity
Cash Perks, a filly who ran the fastest time in the qualifying races last week, heads the 10-horse field tonight in the $604,000 final of the Golden State Futurity for quarter horses at Los Alamitos.
Roman Figueroa, the son-in-law of trainer Blane Schvaneveldt, will ride Cash Perks again after having been aboard in the trials when James Lackey was out with a shoulder injury. Lackey will ride Striding for Gold tonight.
Also in the field is Florentine, winner of the Ed Burke Memorial Futurity last month but a disappointing second in the trials.
