Chippendales nightclub was ordered to pay $12,750 in fines and penalties Friday after its owners pleaded no contest to criminal charges of severe overcrowding, blocked aisles and obstructed doorways.

The fines were assessed by Los Angeles Municipal Judge Veronica Simmons McBeth in the case involving Easebe Enterprises Inc., corporate owner of the West Los Angeles nightclub, and Somen Banerjee, who heads the firm, according to the city attorney’s office.

Fire inspectors charged that 435 people were in the club last April 20 and 328 the next night, although its legal capacity is 299.
