Hall to Receive Achievement Award From Hall of Fame
John Hall, Orange County Register sports columnist, will receive the Orange County Sports Hall of Fame’s Lifetime Achievement Award Feb. 16 in the Emerald Hotel at Anaheim.
Hall began his newspaper career at the Hollywood Citizen News in 1950. Three years later, he moved to the Los Angeles Daily Mirror News. He was hired by The Times in 1964 where he covered the Angels, USC and UCLA football, boxing and wrote a column.
He has been at the Register since 1981.
Previous Orange County Sports Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award recipients are Gene Autry, Tommy Lasorda, Millie Vessels, Jack Stovall, Vic Braden and Red Patterson.
