Drexler and Carr Lead Trail Blazers Over Mavericks
Clyde Drexler scored 22 points and Kenny Carr grabbed a career-high 21 rebounds to lead the Portland Trail Blazers to a 134-100 NBA victory over the Dallas Mavericks Sunday night.
The Trail Blazers had seven players in double figures with Jerome Kersey coming off the bench for 21 points, Steve Johnson adding 19 and Terry Porter scoring 18.
Portland shot nearly 70% from the field in the first period, with Kiki Vandeweghe scoring 12 points of his 16 during the quarter. Carr had nine rebounds for the quarter, giving the Trail Blazers a lead of 41-22 that Dallas could not overcome.
It was the seventh win for the Trail Blazers in eight games while Dallas, feeling the effects of four games in five nights, shot only 38% from the field.
