A 21-year-old Fresno man who, according to police, confessed to a Highway Patrol officer in Costa Mesa that he had shot someone to death was returned to a Fresno Friday.
Sherron Cobb is suspected of shooting a friend, Bryce Stewart, as Stewart was working on a car in Fresno Wednesday, according to Mark Albiani Steward, a spokesman for the Fresno Police Department.
The victim, shot several times, died 30 minutes later at Valley Medical Center, Albiani said.
Cobb allegedly fled and later turned up in Costa Mesa, where he approached a CHP officer and said, “I need to talk,” Albiani said. The officer called Costa Mesa police, who booked Cobb on suspicion of murder.
