Murray Schwartz, president of Merv Griffin Enterprises for the past 15 years, has resigned to form his own television production company, according to Coca-Cola Co., which acquired Merv Griffin Enterprises earlier this year.

Schwartz will develop and produce television programs for Coca-Cola Television in a “continuation of his existing five-year agreement,” the company said.

No successor has been named to Schwartz’s posts of president and chief operating officer, Coca-Cola spokeswoman Hilary Condit said, but she noted that Merv Griffin will continue as chairman and chief executive.
