Amy Alcott sank a 12-foot birdie putt on the first hole of a three-way playoff to win with partner Bob Charles the $730,000 Mazda Champions golf tournament at Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Alcott and Charles shared the winning prize of $500,000. They were tied for first place after 54 holes at 20-under-par 193 with the teams of Billy Casper-Jan Stephenson and Jim Ferree-Ayako Okamoto.
Alcott and Charles started the final round two shots behind second-round leaders Casper and Stephenson. They picked up seven strokes Sunday to force a sudden-death playoff.
The winners birdied Nos. 1, 5, 6, 8, 15, 16 and 17. Okamoto rimmed the cup on her 10-foot birdie try to end the tournament.
