A juvenile suspected of burglarizing a San Francisco high school was shot and killed after he allegedly pointed a gun at a police officer, officials said. San Francisco Police Lt. George Kowalski said the unidentified boy turned out to be carrying a pellet gun that “appeared to be a replica of a large handgun.” Police said three officers answered a burglary alarm at Lowell High School, and one officer, Michael Gaynor, went inside to find two boys with merchandise taken from a vending machine. Gaynor was chasing the two when “he noticed movement” to his right, Kowalski said. The juvenile pointed a weapon at him, and the officer fired, Kowalski said. The boy dropped the weapon, ran about 15 feet and collapsed, the officer added. One of the other youths was arrested, but the third remains at large, Kowalski said.
