Boston College, Georgia Meet in Hall of Fame Bowl Tonight
Thirty-five years after they last played each other in football, Georgia and Boston College will meet tonight (5 o’clock, Ch. 11, 51 and SCORE/FNN) in the Hall of Fame Bowl.
Both teams finished 8-3 after recovering from slow starts. No. 17 Georgia won five of its last six regular-season games, while unranked Boston College won its last seven games.
The game offers a contrast of styles.
Boston College quarterback Shawn Halloran passed for 2,090 yards and 17 touchdowns, with 6 interceptions. His favorite targets are Kelvin Martin and Darren Flutie, Doug’s younger brother, who had 41 and 35 catches, respectively.
For Georgia, junior quarterback James Jackson (410 yards rushing, 1,475 passing) directs a ground-oriented attack that features tailback Lars Tate (954 yards rushing, 16 touchdowns).
