Soviet Dissenter Orlov to Join Cornell Faculty

ITHACA, N. Y. —
Yuri Orlov, the human rights advocate freed in October after eight years of imprisonment and internal exile in the Soviet Union, said Tuesday he will join the faculty of Cornell University as a research scientist. Orlov, a physicist, accepted a three-year appointment to the school’s Laboratory of Nuclear Science.
