Paramount : Montoya to Lead Trustees
Joseph M. Montoya III has been selected president of the Paramount Unified School District Board of Education.
Ken Teeples was named vice president. Both Montoya, elected to the board in 1981 and Teeples, elected in April, 1986, were unanimous choices of the five-member board.
Board members meet twice monthly. They receive $400 a month, the maximum allowed under state law and based on the average daily attendance in the district.
The 11,400-student district includes Paramount and small parts of Long Beach and Lakewood.
