Midfielder Mark Frederickson beat former college teammate David Brcic from 35 feet out with 4 minutes 22 seconds left, giving the St. Louis Steamers a 3-2 Major Indoor Soccer League victory over the Los Angeles Lazers Friday night before a crowd of 8,127 at St. Louis.

Defender Chris Kenny set up Frederickson, who played with Brcic at the University of St. Louis, from in front of the net. The goal unlocked a tie created at 5:08 of the final period on Lazer defender Neil Gibson’s power-play goal.

The Lazers, who have lost seven of their last eight games, dropped to 4-7 and into last place in the Western Division, and the Steamers improved to 6-7.
