FORT WORTH — A man who was shot in the head after complaining about his Christmas present from his girlfriend has died, authorities said today.
Calvin Davis, 30, who died Monday at a hospital, had been wounded by a shot fired from a .22-caliber rifle on Christmas Day, officials said.
Kretta Johnson, 20, shot Davis after an argument over the shaving cream and cologne set she gave him for Christmas, according to police.
Davis complained that the gift wasn’t “what I want,” police said. The woman told police Davis had not given her anything for the holiday.
Police said an attempted murder charge against Johnson will be changed to murder. She is in the Tarrant County Jail with bail set at $5,000.
