A fight broke out when party crashers disrupted a New Year’s Eve gathering at a Burbank house and four people were stabbed, three seriously, the Burbank Police Department reported.

A suspect was being sought.

Police would not reveal the identities of the victims, three men and a boy. Sgt. Donald Goldberg said the victims were hospitalized at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank.

About 10 people had gathered at a house in the 2300 block of North Fairview Street, police said. Shortly after 2:15 a.m. an uninvited man showed up and began arguing and fighting with the guests.

“It was one of those New Year’s parties where an argument gets physical,” Goldberg said. “In this case the someone managed to knife four people. There was evidence that heavy drinking had been going on at the party.”

The suspect fled before police arrived.
