Wrong Leg Amputated From Spanish Woman

OVIEDO, Spain —
A doctor amputated the wrong leg of an 86-year-old woman, hospital officials said today.
The surgeon, who was not named, mistakenly read the operating instructions and Thursday night amputated the right leg of Esperanza Cueva Prado, who was suffering from gangrene in her left leg. Her family said they will sue.
