Share

The City Council has unanimously agreed to use revenue from parking permits and meters to pay for the $2.5-million first phase of the downtown Streetscape beautification project.

The council also agreed to raise meter rates in downtown parking structures from 10 cents to 25 cents per hour and to raise monthly parking space permits from $25 to $35.

Councilman Larry Dougharty also requested a report for the council’s Jan. 20 meeting on a proposal to extend enforcement hours from 6 to 8 p.m. Finance Director Merle F. Lundberg has estimated that an additional $50,000 per year could be raised during the extra enforcement hours.
