Bills Introduced: Lottery: AB 187 by Assemblyman Bill Bradley (R-San Marcos) would limit the largest single prize awarded in the California Lottery to $20 million.
Discrimination: AB 181 by Assemblyman Elihu M. Harris (D-Oakland) would prohibit discrimination based on blindness or other physical disabilities.
Credit: AB 193 by Assemblyman Steve Peace (D-Chula Vista) would require consumer credit reporting agencies to furnish reports and information at no charge upon request of the consumer, provided that the consumer does not make more than three requests per calendar year.
Veterans: AB 200 by Assemblyman Steve Clute (D-Riverside) would authorize construction of a second state veterans’ home costing no more than $200 million in Southern California.
Senate Bills Introduced: Highways: SB 140 and SB 142 by Sen. Wadie P. Deddeh (D-Chula Vista) would place on the 1988 primary election ballot a $1.8-billion bond issue to improve state highways and authorize voter-approved local sales tax increases to pay for the similar work on streets and roads.
Alzheimer’s Disease: SB 139 by Sen. Henry J. Mello (D-Watsonville) would appropriate $5 million to expand college research programs to discover the cause and find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease.
Fishing: SB 128 by Sen. Ken Maddy (R-Fresno) would prohibit night fishing from one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise.
