Al Davis, managing general partner of the Raiders, and players’ union chief Gene Upshaw, a former Raider, were among the 16 finalists named for possible induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Joining Davis and Upshaw were another former Raider, wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff; a former Ram, offensive tackle Bob Brown; running back Larry Csonka; quarterback Len Dawson; defensive tackle Joe Greene; quarterback Bob Griese; running back John Henry Johnson; offensive guard Jerry Kramer; center Jim Langer; offensive guard Larry Little; wide receivers Don Maynard and Tommy McDonald, and defensive tackle Alan Page. Former Cleveland Coach Blanton Collier was also named.
