NEW YORK — A police officer who was severly burned when he rushed into a blazing apartment building to warn its occupants died of his injuries Saturday, police said.
Francis LaSala, 33, died at the burn center of New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, where he had been treated for second- and third-degree burns, police spokesman Sgt. Raymond O’Donnell said.
