“Hennesey,” the military comedy series that starred Jackie Cooper and ran on CBS from 1959 to 1962, may be making a comeback. Hal Roach Studios has had the original black-and-white episodes colorized and will be selling them to stations for the 1987 TV season.

In the works at NBC News is a business-oriented program, “Before Hours,” that will air weekdays at 5:45 a.m. Bob Jamieson will anchor the broadcast, which is set to debut March 2 and will be produced in association with the Wall Street Journal.

The Broadway production of Eugene O’Neill’s “Long Day’s Journey Into Night” with Jack Lemmon has been taped for presentation on the Showtime pay-TV channel. An air date has not been announced. Jonathan Miller directed the TV adaptation, in which Lemmon portrays James Tyrone. Bethel Leslie plays his wife, Mary.

Colleen Dewhurst will be seen playing an anthropologist in a coming “Disney Sunday Movie” for ABC called “Bigfoot.” The film was directed by Dan Huston, 24-year-old son of Academy Award-winning director John Huston.

Buddy Ebsen will play Joey Cramer’s grandfather in “Stone Fox,” a TV movie that NBC expects to broadcast later this season. Cramer’s character is a 12-year-old boy who enters a dog-sled race to earn money to help the older man. His principal opposition comes from a Shoshone Indian named Stone Fox, who is played by Gordon Tootoosis.

NBC is hoping to reunite former “Today” show anchors when the early-morning program celebrates its 35th anniversary with a prime-time special Jan. 31. Bryant Gumbel and Jane Pauley will play host to some of their “Today” predecessors, whose ranks include Barbara Walters, John Chancellor, Hugh Downs, Tom Brokaw and Jim Hartz.

Ann-Margret and Claudette Colbert are “The Two Mrs. Grenvilles,” the title of a four-hour miniseries that NBC plans to broadcast Feb. 8-9. Colbert plays mother to Stephen Collins and disapproves when he marries Ann-Margret. It’s based on the novel by Dominick Dunne.
