Fire that burned out of control for nearly six hours destroyed 15 business establishments and did an estimated $2 million damage to a three-story complex of offices, shops and restaurants in Hayward, but a fire spokesman said no one was injured because the maze of buildings was unoccupied over the weekend. Hayward Fire Department Capt. John Boykin said 80 firefighters from his city and seven surrounding communities finally controlled the blaze, that evidently began in the basement of an antique shop. Cause of the fire was under investigation, he said.
