Nestande Quits as Supervisor

Share

Orange County Supervisor Bruce Nestande, who has been under investigation by federal and local authorities in the W. Patrick Moriarty political corruption probe, resigned from the board today. Nestande, a former GOP assemblyman and one-time aide to then-Gov. Ronald Reagan, said he would leave Jan. 27 to pursue an unspecified career change.

Nestande, 48, sought unsuccessfully to unseat Secretary of State March Fong Eu in last November’s election. He joined the Board of Supervisors in 1981 after unseating controversial former Vietnam prisoner of war Edison Miller.
